Captain Yashasvi Jaiswal, leading the side in the absence of the injured Riyan Parag, opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Chasing a mammoth target of 221, Rajasthan Royals required a fast start, and Jaiswal alongside Vaibhav Sooryavanshi provided exactly that. Scoring 71 runs in the powerplay, the pair kept the required run rate in check. While Jaiswal played the role of the aggressor with 43 runs, it was the young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who anchored the innings, eventually taking complete control once the partnership was broken.

Sooryavanshi’s knock was nothing short of extraordinary. He crafted a blistering 93, laced with 10 massive sixes and 7 boundaries. Although he fell just seven runs short of a well-deserved century, his composure at the crease allowed Dhruv Jurel to flourish at the other end. Jurel, remaining unbeaten on 53 off 37 balls, ensured there were no late hiccups, guiding the Royals to a comfortable victory.

Adjudged the Player of the Match, Sooryavanshi spoke with a maturity that belied his age. When asked about his strategy during the chase, he revealed, “I was just thinking because I was sitting outside during the bowling innings and the wicket looked good. I was thinking that today I shouldn’t rush too much at the start, I should take some time and if I bat for a longer period, it’s going to help the batter at the other end as well.”
